'The sky won't fall', SC refuses to hear plea seeking CBI probe into Ayodhya offering theft case
Digital Desk, New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear the Ayodhya Ram Temple offering theft case urgently. The court declined to entertain a PIL seeking a CBI-led multi-agency investigation, saying the sky would not fall if the hearing were held after regular work resumes after the summer vacation.
A public interest litigation (PIL) filed in the Supreme Court by two advocates sought a court-monitored investigation by the CBI and other agencies into the theft of donations collected for the Ram Temple. The petitioners argued that the investigation being conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police did not inspire confidence and alleged that crucial evidence was not being properly preserved.
